So I was ordering some film last week, specifically 35mm color slide film. I was going to order some provia ISO100 from BH but was looking on other sites like Adorama, Amazon, Ebay etc. I found a few retailers on Amazon market place selling 400x which is discontinued. Not paying attention I thought I was buying a 5-pack since the price was in the range of a 5-pack. Turned out I bought a single roll. No one to blame but myself as I've noticed sellers listing singles and packs, using the exact same headline except adding (5-pack) at the end. In my haste to purchase I totally missed that part.

Lesson learned...

Knowing what I paid for the single roll I'm hesitant to shoot it now LOL. It's sitting in the freezer as we speak...

Well, in your defense, some of those sellers are tricky, so maybe it wasn't totally your fault. I bet you'll make that roll count, though, whenever you do get around to shooting it! :)

I felt the same way about my second marriage.
I could have had a lot more fun for a lot less money if I had just paid attention to what was in front of me.

Guess that roll will be for a special occasion. Nice picture of a nice looking camera, so you have that...

So, for how much you burned yourself ?

I think I paid $43 bucks for the roll. Which is ironic because I paid $40 for the Minolta lol

Amazon has a pretty fair return policy. Not sure if it extends to some of their sellers. Might be worth looking into a return if you haven't had the film to long.

or ask the seller that you thought you picked the 5 pack and not the single ...

Yes and yes. That's a hefty price to make for a mistake that might not have been entirely yours. I'd look into returning. Also look closely at the listing you chose and see if there is any ambiguity into how many rolls you were supposed to get. You can challenge the charges.

YOWZA. THAT hurts. For $43, did it include a gold plated film canister?

To be fair, I got that kinda thing once too. Bid on something for a fair price on eBay. Then looked at the shipping AFTER I had bid. Shipping was $30 for I think a lens. I guess we all have to learn somehow.

Lew, all I gotta say: :biglaugh:

Yeah you know what guys, I'll take a close look at Amazon's fine print and see what it says. Even if I could get a refund I'm likely out the shipping cost to get it back to California...considering I live in Toronto...I'm thinking I should just eat the lesson. If anything maybe I won't feel so bad if I get some nice shots with the film.
