What's new

Guess what I saw today.....

Thanks Danny. :) You can come visit me anytime so you can see a moose. New Zealand is on my list of places that I want to visit.

Well you could kill two birds with one stone, by a ticket to NZ and stick a Moose in your carry on bag. Win Win. Synergy Dance.. lol

But see, I've seen a moose now. I KNOW how big they are. I don't have a carry on big enough.

Danny, if I bring you a picture of one does that count?

Simple enough, if you just think outside the box a bit. Ok, your going to need a moose, a bigger carry on bag, and a really talented yoga instructor.. lol

You let me know when you get a chance. The Kingfisher are waiting Barb ;) I shoot with a few experts down here and they are just full of humour ...... two female bird shooters among the small group BTW. Toya is excellent !!

All the best Barb.

Danny.

Nice. A fox ran about 40' in front of me last night. I wanted him to stop so i could pet him, but he saw me and hustled away :(

Ah, the roadside moose. Great that you finally got to get to see them.
This is when they come close to hwy 60 ... and also in the Autumn when the water plants have started to decline.
The Fox is a nice catch. They are not the easiest ones to get a shot of in Algonquin.
Now you just have to catch a Moose from a canoe.

Did you get to see the Gray Jays (bird seed and unsalted peanuts are required)?

Well I looked into the tour for the canoe and the moose with the photographer who does them and they are $575.00 per person and completely sold out for this year. But talking to Scott about renting a canoe. Just not sure he knows how to paddle :)

We didn't see any Gray Jays. But because of the weather, we didn't go hike. It rained on the way in, and the way out, it stopped long enough for me to get the moose and the fox. We are definitely planning on going back to do some hiking.

The fox sat there for the entire 15-20 minutes I was taking pictures. She just kept looking at me, then looking around. I guess having a full belly, and the fact that I don't look threatening made her feel comfortable. She had no interest in leaving. She kept looking directly at me, and I kept saying, seriously, you're looking right at the camera?? She was adorable. This is the picture I got when she was looking at me. $71D_6596.webp

I've never been this close to one. Apparently, a belly full of turtle eggs is the trick.
