H-H025 lens issue

I just got this lens used, and something seems off. Shooting at F1.7 on a G7 it looks like the sharpness isn't too good, and seems there's a weird smudging around the white lettering in the image I attached. I'm fairly new to photography so I'm not familiar with all the terminology yet. If I shoot at F5.0 on the H-H025, the sharpness seems to improve, but still not as good as the G7 14-42mm kit lens. I also included a shot with a Fujian tv lens for comparison. I know the H-H025 isn't too expensive, but shouldn't be a little better? Is there something wrong with it?
