Showed my family how my remote flash / softbox worked while I was visiting over thanksgiving. Just playing around with some different shots. After a couple glasses of wine, it was probably the funniest mock-photoshoot i've done

he wanted his super serious model pose done right

He likes to splay his leg out. It's hilarious when he lays down

Nice. I really like the dog and cat one; I think though it would be even stronger if you could pull a little more detail out of the shadow side.

I didn't have a clean background, so pulling the shadows made the background a little distracting. Once my second speedlite comes in, it shouldn't be an issue because I'll just be able to get it right in camera. (I tried using a white pillow as a reflector, but the family was more interested in distracting the dogs with treats as opposed to holding up the reflector).

What did your setup look like for these? I really like the lighting mood, etc. Cool shots!

for my brother, it was a single umbrella softbox high camera right (angled 40* down and pointed at his eyes).

for the pups, it was a combination of the umbrella softbox camera left (angled ~30* down), and possibly a reflector just off to camera right.

Nice! How close was the softbox to the subjects?
