Hamburg - Köhlbrandbrücke (The Bridge)

Hamburg in Germany has a port. And a large one at that. And a port requires water. Mostly so one that is as far inland as Hamburg Port is. So there are many pools parting off the River Elbe - similar to more and more tracks as railway lines get nearer and nearer to a big station.

One big port pool is called Köhlbrand.
Until the Seventies, it was not easy to get across that part of Hamburg Port. Then they built this bridge:

Amazing shots!!! The tear drop support is creative compared to most bridges I have seen. If I lived near there I would spend a lot of time at this structure.

Bridges around here are few and far between. Seeing your photos has made me miss them. Then again I remember sitting in traffic.

Hey I've been there! Cool shots. Hamburg is nice. I played a jazz concert at the art museum there.
