Hang on little beetle...

Japanese Beetle (they're such terrors around here)

I went outside to photograph a rose today, and about 20 beetles had devoured it.

Auto Exposure: 1/250s f/5.6 (handheld)
Camera: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P10
Photoshop Edits: Blurred background to create focus on the beetle (due to the bad auto aperature setting) and put into grayscale.

I wasn't really fond of the full color photo, but I never really thought about just keeping the color on the beetle... I'll post that sometime soon...

*edit*

I just looked at the color version again, and there's not enough color on the beetle to even mess with it. Most of their color is on their backs (just a little green is all you could see)...

too bad about the rose
maybe try the partial color thing, with a saturation boost on the beetle? or paint it a little? i would like to see it
