Hard drive or cloud Backup: Which one is best?

Think about it, there is a reason that the clouds are having trouble getting the big companies on board, for that matter even the medium size are recognizing the pitfall potential. Especially after the several individual cloud interruptions the last few months.

Besides that, most big and even intermediate companies have their own IT departments that have backups totally covered already without needing an external cloud service provider. Many of them also have their own VPN networks and server farms even.

I would look into Backblaze. They're super cheap and you can backup a computer and external drives without paying a premium.

yeah, um. just said I was out of room, and I am almost out of room on backup drive. I don't want to pay anymore. I think everything going on cloud back up now is going to be jpeg and all the raw files will be singled out for necessity and going on backup drive or deleted, even more than I was doing before. I still shoot more jpeg than raw anyway. Going back to just BASIC google cloud as it was just mentioned above, I have been using it anyway. It is free, usable and I don't want to pay to store all this chit to be honest. Most of these photos wont mean much to me anyway in twenty years except for ones of my kids which I keep drive backups of too. Family vids etc.
I should go on another deletion spree. Half the photos in my backup drive aren't worth anything. How many mediocre flower and tree photos do I really need? Almost seems pointless.
I could save a lot of headache if I just started deleting crap in camera but I tend to just throw the sd card in and upload the entire thing, even the crap. And if I really keep this much chit someday someone is going to have to sort through it, god help them.
