Hard to Capture

K9Kirk · Apr 16, 2020

This is just practice in capturing insects in flight so they aren't sharp. They move and change direction so fast it's ridiculous but I'll learn the technique to capturing them eventually.

Nicely done! Dragonflies are so danged hard to predict, I've yet to get any in flight shots.

Nice shooting Kirk. insects in flight (IIF?) is very difficult. I've even tried with the 150-600- quite a workout.

Imagine how silly it must look to a passerby, a photographer just madly waving their lens around for no apparent reason...

Thank you. Ha! I'm sure they would wonder what's up with that. I actually did that technique at first but quickly realized that trying to actually follow them in flight and stay focused on them is almost impossible. Luck plays a big part with any success using that method.
