This is still one of my all time favorite photographs. I took this photo one morning in Wimberley, Tx on the Blanco River riverbank. Lisa and I spent the weekend there in a local bed and breakfast and I decided to get up early one morning and drive down to the river for some sunrise shots. The sunrise shots never panned out like I planned but I did notice this child's handprint on one of the huge Cypress trees nearby. The child must have been about 5 years old or so and just slapped a bit thick piece of mud onto the tree leaving his hand print. The mud was rock solid when I saw it so it had to have been there for at least a couple of days.

I think the cool part is that this particular child had no idea what would become of his little handprint and as it turns out, it's the subject of one of my most favorite photographs. Go figure.

I love it! haha

Me too!

I think it's cool that you captured it. :D

Excellent! the tone and feel of this photo is just amazing.

Yes, this is an endearing photo and story. Maybe one time you'll find out who this kid was and you can tell and show him/her what you made out of this innocent play with the mud. Good idea, lovely outcome!
