Harrisburg Snow

It started snowing a little bit in Harrisburg tonight, so I decided to run out and snap a couple pictures.

I love the second one. It looks like it's raining/snowing. Great color and composition.

2 is awesome! the diagonal precip is really nice. how long was that exposure?

I really like the first one better. Not only the composition, but I don't ever remember seeing so much detail in a night shot without completely washing out the highlights.
What camera settings did you use, and you did use a tripod, yes? Or did you really "just snap it"?

Hi,

a very nice work. Both of them. The first one has a gothic touch, close to Comic-like illustrations (at least the whole left front of buildings, awesome). The second one, as well stated by other replies, with that singular touch of the diagonal lines.

spiffybeth - The exposure was 25" I believe, long enough to let the snow have that neat effect

Early - For the first one i definitely used a tripod and the settings were ISO 200 - F/13 for 8 seconds

I like both of them but #2 is my favorite. It's a little more timeless I think. Great composition.
