Hey guys, recently acquired a Canon 7D, and it is quite a step up from the Olympus E-510 I was shooting with before. Here are four photos I took from a day trip up to the lake. They all have less than five minutes each of post processing. Please leave the inconsistencies of the watermark out of the C&C, I put them on sloppily to cover my behind. I'd hate to see one of my photos somewhere as a stock photo.

Thanks, and happy shooting!

I like the one with the door hinge. The dead leaves don't do anything for me.

I liked the first one because of the DOF, but when I saw the larger version it seems like you missed the focus.

It is a little out of focus. I ended up getting about 20 shots of the subject with the same composition, so I think I'll end up with one of the others. Thanks!

I like the hinge too, I just like doors, windows and all their parts ;)

On a side note, Saskatoon, didn't Burton Cummings sing a song about your home town?

I like the hinge one too. I would have liked a little more DOF though, not much just a smidge. I know how hard it it to get a wooden subject to stand out against the back ground, so good job on the last one.

I really like the color schemes in all these images.... and the way how you distanced the B/G is commendable too; in clockwise order of counting my order of preference is 1>4>3>2...i am not happy how the hinges was compressed down into the frame

Regards :D

Thanks, I appreciate it. I cropped by an aspect ration of 16x9 for a background for my laptop, but If I left a little more on the top and took a little off the bottom, is what you're saying?

I was thinking the same thing. I would have preferred the whole image to be in focus myself. You could always up the saturation a bit to increase the separation of the hinge from the monotone wood.
