Head shot question

I have a friend bringing his daughter over this weekend to take a head shot for her 8th grade yearbook. They told the kids to go get a professional picture taken but didn't give them any other info on how they want the shot delivered aka a print or a digital file. Here's my question, for a digital file, what size do you save this at? 2" x 3"? He can always take it to a printer to print it as I don't have a great printer. I am concerned with what size to save the file. Does that make sense? Thanks

I would do both a 2x3 and 4x5 version as 8x10 is a very common portfolio size.
