Heading to Mexico

This Monarch has been tanking up for it's trip for most of the afternoon. It seems much smaller and rarer than those seen in abundance, in years past. I wonder if the species is becoming smaller is a result of the diminishing food supply.

Would love to see the end of the migration. Only seen the trees covered with them in documentaries. AMAZING !! Nice wing display there.
