Hello and Help

Thinking of purchasing a Nikon D700 or a Nikon D3s and wondering if the lens's i have for my Nikon F301 will work ok in manual focus mode?

They all look like AI-s lenses some of course are not Nikon lens's but all have the half round cut out and the machined recess to the right of that and of course the Nikon lens has 22 in orange print.

I tried to post pictures of them here but that seems to have failed though they uploaded fine or appeared to. Do i need to post them on the web and then post a link here or what?

They should work in that they will meter, but as you're aware, they're all manual focus lenses, and to be honest, none of them are especially good lenses. The 35-105 is decent, but if you're going to spend the money on a high-end body, you really should get glass that will do it justice. You would be a LOT farther ahead to buy a cheap digital body and a couple of good fast zooms (24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8), or even just buy the good glass and shoot film with the 301 body.

I do agree and will prob just buy a prime 1.4 50mm lens as a start............see my other thread please http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/...255642-what-dslr-what-lenses.html#post2335772 as this camera and lenses will be used in a fairly hostile environment on a boat on the Caribbean i was not wanting to take expensive auto lenses into that environment 'initially'. The lenses may not have the right name on the front but that are all in a real world way very good performers. As to how they will perform on a modern digital camera that is to be discovered.
