Hello All,
My name is VJ and I am a semi-professional landscape photographer based in the Maritimes in Eastern Canada. I've been shooting for a little over 15 years now, as has my wife ( we took it up at the same time ). I originally learned on my father's old Ashai K1000 and we bought her a K10D so we could both shoot. In the last few years it's been so much harder getting film developed for less than an arm and a leg so we got myself a K7 a couple years ago.
We do everything - except this year we took a pass on weddings - but my personal passion is the landscapes. I have a few local business / restaurants that have our work on their walls for sale, which they receive a 20% cut for sales. It was hard convincing people at first that there was no catch, just display and take the money ha ha. It's paid off though as we sell roughly 10-15 prints a month, but just not at the point where we can quit our jobs
As well, I am a regular contributor to the Pentax Artist Gallery where I have well over 30 images accepted ( link in sig ).
I joined as I feel like I wanted to get a bit more involved in the photo world as well as offer advice / tips to any new shooters. Looking forward to meeting / interacting with some of you. I will post a few recents in the Landscape forum.
