Photos OK to edit
Hey folks, just wanted to post a hello and a little background. First off, I am not a very artistic person. My tendencies lean toward the logical, but I have found that photography is where I tend to be more creative. I have some experience with photography but not much. I took a B&W course in college about a decade ago and really enjoyed it (really wish I still had my negatives to covert to digital). Since then I really haven't done a lot with photography since, but last year I made the decision to get back into it and got a Nikon D5100 and a couple of lenses and memory cards. The lenses I currently have are AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR and AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II. I am looking at picking up a fixed focal lens at some point (hopefully soon).

I am a pretty busy guy unfortunately (aren't we all) but I am hoping to become at least somewhat active in the community and pick up some knowledge to expand my interest in photography.

Welcome to TPF, Bodark. :) Actually, I think each of us in inherently creative; but our busy lives keep that fire dampened down. It speaks a lot that you took a B&W course and really enjoyed the process; I am guessing you worked in the darkroom and developed your own film, etc. Wonderful!!

So keep at it, now that you have set yourself up again. Post here and ask as many questions as you like. Your artistry has not left you; it just needs coaxing. ;) Have fun!!

Yep did the darkroom stuff, rolled my own film rolls (botched a few needless to say), stood over the developing tray praying a photo was going to come out as well as I was imagining, etc. :) It was a cool experience, but I am glad memory cards can't accidently be exposed :)
