Just bought my first DSLR
A Rebel EOS T6 with the kit lense so far
I am from Texas and am watching online classes on how to utilize my new camera.

I shoot with a t6. I can't complain too much.

My biggest piece of advice would be to learn as much as you can with the kit lenses, but shop for a better lens in the meantime. The 50mm is decent for a beginner step up lens, though I love my 40mm.
