hello mr kookaburra

on the day that my new sexy 70-300mm telephoto lense arrived, a kookaburra was perched on my clothes line out the back so i took some photos
after a few flashes the kookaburra was starting to get angry

hehe a 'american bald eagle shot'

as i was taking the photos my doggy woggy came along and the kookaburra was curious and didnt know what it was (my dog looks like a rat)

why not? a speccy photographer shot


but as i moved in for the 'kill' he saw me and flew away into some distant branches

How cute. I really like kookabarras. I have never seen any live, whether in a zoo or in the wild (read where I am from at it becomes all obvious why not), but I know their photos and their "laughter" --- though I have never seen a photo such as your first here. That is so nice, one from up front, a really kookabarra-portrait!
