TPF Noob!
Hello everyone!
My name is Alex and I'm just posting to say hi. I've been into photography for just over two years. I realized during my travels with work that the photos I was taking with my P&S really weren't on par with what I was trying to get. A couple of months later I brought my first DSLR home, a Canon T3. Fast forward two years later and I've equipped myself with a 7D, four lenses and a flashgun... let's just say the wallet got lighter sometimes, lol.
I do a bit of everything, but enjoy landscape photos, especially when traveling. I live in the beautiful Saguenay area, known for it's beautiful nature and long, snowy and cold winter, so it's a nice spot for landscape and nature photography. I'm also getting good with fast action (dancing) in a low light setting with flash. I've tried a little night-sky photography as well, with interesting but not ideal results.
As for post-processing, I'm getting the hang of Lightroom 5 and work on the occasional HDR with Photomatix.
Overall, I've signed up here for the learning experience, to get a chance to pick your brains about stuff every once in a while. I already enjoy some of the awesome photography I've seen here and hope to post some interesting stuff as well.
