Help! Can't undo picture tilt in Cs5

More often than not, lately whenever I first open a picture in Cs5 I inadvertently cause it to tilt- this is by just a small slight of my hand with no action involved that I can tell-and it is completely irreversible- i can't "undo it" and it is not listed in the history. A big red "compass" looking thing appears for a split second usually after this happens.HELP!!!
