My quantaray 70-300 MM Telephoto got dunked in lagoon entering the ocean and has a few small salt particles on the lense but trapped inside.

Does anyone know how to take apart the lens to clean it or have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Steve

But the repair cost maybe higher than the lens value.
Not sure if it is the same type of lens. I helped my friend and bought him a Quantaray 70-300mm with Nikon mount lens used for $65 last year.

If that's the case, throw it away and buy another one.

Salt water. Not good.

Zoom lenses are quite complex and if you have no experience, or the special tools needed to disassemble a lens, send it in for cleaning.

Used versions of your lens cost less than $100. I doubt you could get your lens cleaned for less than $100, but you won't know until you contact a repair facility. Check with a local camera shop.
I would keep using the lens as is. If corrosion from the salt starts causing problems, just get another Quantaray 70-300.
