Help converting a forrest picture to black and white

Hi, I've recently been trying to make a good black and white of a picture I took on my way home through the forrest a couple of days ago. My black and white skills aren't great though, so I thought I might come here for some help. This is what I have at the moment.



Maybe the picture just isn't any good, but maybe someone here can do better . It was the middle of the day, so the light was a bit sharp. Here's a link to the RAW file,
