Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I take pictures of tables and work in a make-shift studio (paper backdrop, 2 big/2 small hot boxes, 60D) and all my table tops appear white/cloudy due to the white room.
I want to achieve this outcome with no glare coming off the table top so you can see the grain. How do you do this??????
I have white reflectors that are about 5ft x 2.5 ft., perhaps it's my lighting positions, I have no idea.
Thanks in advance
SB

put the light on the same side as the camera, not facing it. it looks like the shot was done with a huge white backdrop, hence the seamless transition between horizontal and vertical axes.

TPF rules/regs don't let us post photos we didn't take, but it is ok to post a link to a photo copyrighted by someone else.

Post an example of what you are getting. A diagram of your layout including distances would also be helpful for giving you specific advice.

You are likely getting 'spill' and reflection from the background.

Lighting is a lot like shooting pool, it's all about the angles.

My guess is the background was black, not white, to prevent any reflections in the surface of the table. It was then removed and replaced with white in post.

ahhh that makes sense, a black background.. for a quick fix I guess a black reflector might do the trick.. we have yards upon yards of this black fabric.

And I didn't realize that rule, thanks for informing me KmH.. the photo was taken by the photo wizards over at Drexel Heritage Furniture.

I'll get pics of my setup soon enough to help you to help me.

Thank you :)
