Help please.... Dropped my camera

So the other day I got out of my car and my camera fell from around my neck (strap was done badly). Anyway, it fell onto some gravel, and landed on the bottom of the body (not the lens... ). It is a nikon d40, by the way. AFter the fall I immediately re tied the strap properly (should have read the manual...) and took some shots in a bunch of different modes. Everything seems to be fine.... but should I worry about something internal in my camera that may be broken? Is there something that may not be apparent now, that may become apparent later? How many of you guys have dropped SLRs, and come away fine? Please answer. I feel like dropping it has discouraged me a little...

I have dropped mine a couple times, even broke my speedlite. But so far my camera is fine. People told me it is something you would notice
