Help required with this shot...

OK, I love this shot, I think it has great potential, however, on the PP side of things I can't seem to make it POP, like some shots you see with sunlight streaming through the trees. Any ideas what would help? It has been shot in RAW so editing is easier. Ideas, thoughts, criticism all welcome!

Here's the tutorial i followed. When he suggested changing the blend mode i changed mine to hard light.
Maybe a bit too dramatic but you get the idea...

Woah, was that light already in the picture or is it shopped?

The background and fore colours seem the same, I'm assuming the light is photo shopped, which is unfortunately not what I'm looking for, I'm looking to enhance the natural light if anyone has any tips?

Add more color to the light, the beams are very white right now. Also I would do some composite work. Are you using photoshop?

im not sure I like the edit- just looks too much like the light was added.

I agree though its got a nice feeling to it but could just use some expert post work. If I knew how to help id offer advice, sorry Im not the best at nature stuff.
