Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
So, I'm new to this forum and all, this is my first post as well, and I need some help. I was out getting some pictures eariler today, and I was standing trying to swap out my lenses, and well, dropped my camera body (Nikon D5100). Now, I don't see any real damage or anything, but it keeps telling me "Lens not attached" even though it is. It will only read that the lens is attached while in full Manual Mode. I really have no clue on what to do here. I don't even know of any shops around where I live that I could take it to. So please, any suggestions on how to fix the problem or anything would be much appreciated!

Your best bet is to call Nikon USA, get an RMA number, and send it in for repair. If it wasn't displaying that message before the drop and is displaying it afterwards then the drop apparently did something to it internally in which Nikon is your best bet.

The electrical connectors between the camera and the lens are spring loaded, and/or the contacts could be dirty.

Without a lens on the camera use a dull pencil point or your finger tip and make sure each round contact on the lens and the camera are still 'springy' and clean.
The graphite that a pencil lead is made of is a conductor, so cleaning the contacts with the pencil lead help promote electrical contact.

If none of that helps you'll need to send the camera in for repair.
Nikon USA service will charge to repair any damaged cause by dropping your camera, and they will likely be able to tell the camera has been dropped.
