HELP: Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 Version I - Possible Front Element Issue??

I just got the Version I of the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 in the mail and I noticed that one of the element-outlines seems to be "warped" or "rough", and I was wondering if this is how the lens is supposed to look. I've tried to look up pictures of the front element and none are detailed enough to tell.

I was wondering if you guys could tell me if I have a defective lens on my hands.

Have you tried shooting with it yet? It certainly doesn't look normal to me but I've not looked at any Tokina lenses before. I'd say shoot some test shots with it and see how they look.

Test shots at all FLs & apertures; check at 100% crop, and if it's okay, forget about it, if not, back she goes.
