Help with ID, Please

We were at Sanibel Island last week. We got some really nice photographs of birds, but there were two I could not identify.

looks like a yellow-crowned night heron, which are pretty rare, I think.

Looks like a type of heron to my eyes, but I am no expert and sadly the books I have (ok book) is UK based.

That one is a juvenile yellow crowned night heron.
