I posted this over in "Beyond Basics" only to find out (actually I could have simply looked at the titles) that this board is the only photo gallery that gets looked at.

What were you going for? It's underexposed, cropped weird (which is entirely a personal judgement call), and at a funky angle.

Was this shot with ambient?

If you can pick up a copy of "Light, Science, and Magic" by Phil Hunter, it can teach you a lot. It's some good information to be applied to lighting in general, whether it's ambient or flash.

I went for the angle on purpose, a straight-up-and-down photo of a bottle is a little boring to me...I just wanted the labels, so I cut off the top and bottom...it is underexposed...I should fix that...I'm thinking it was ambient light, but I may have used flash as well, don't remember...

Drex, it is underexposed. The crop/tilt doesn't bother me for this image though.

Exposure fix makes it a bit better, but I'm not digging the 'flash' line that runs along bottle from the lighting.

That'll take a little work, let me see what I can do...I'll upload that fix shortly...

I agree the straight up bottle may not do much, but the angle is too subtle and looks more like a mistake.
Tilt it more and we will also be able to see the 'suds' in the bottle at an angle...maybe shake is a little for more sudsy action. Also a better angle on the label, if the label is what you are aiming at.

I'll have to buy another six-pack then, by the time this photo was taken, I had already drank it up...suds and all :sexywink:

Drex, brighter baby brighter!! haha ok work's just a little slow for now

Here :)
