Hi everybody,

Well, I got myself into this world of iso-s, raw-s and lenses just because I always enjoyed watching time-lapses.

Well, few days ago I left my phone home, got my stuff, dropped my kids off at the school, put a car in a public car-park and shot my very 1st time-lapse:

Yeah, when I see some other creations, I realize - hey, you are really far from those cool guys (or girls), BUT >> I'm really proud of the 1st results :)

Shot with: Canon 7D
Lens: Canon 18-55mm
Format: S Raw
Number of photos: 765
Interval: 5 sec
Video: 24 frames/sec
Sound? ... none

:) Helmuts

The question for Windows users: which software do you use to add sound to the final video? .. I created this video using LightRoom.

Well, I use the CC audio option that YouTube offers. I ordered Adobe Premiere a few days ago and I'll start using that. I'm just starting to get into time lapses myself with my 60D and D7000. Does the 7D has a built-in intervolameter? I'm using a vello shutterboss on my 60D. I like it much better than the built-in option on the D7000 so I ordered a shutterboss for the D7k too.

You got the basic technique, but I think the composition itself needs something. The first thing that comes to mind is that the exposure seems wrong. The city is underexposed and the sky is overexposed, which just nets to a very flat image. Also, scout out a great spot for your next work on these. My impressions from the great timelapses I've seen is that they show some sort of fluid movement that only can be seen over time. Like people moving through a plaza at rush hour, the tidal movements in an estuary, or the movements of shadows through the day.

BTW...Magic Lantern has an alpha for the 7D. I've been using ML on my camera for the last month and it's really awesome. Love the intervalometer, trap focus, and auto bracketing features.

MagicLantern.fm - Magic Lantern on 7D ? YES !

Thank you for a honest opinion.. I know that there are loads of things that are wrong, but still proud of it :))

Good time lapse video for your first.

I use Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 to batch-edit the photos and then combine them with some background music on Adobe Premiere Pro. Recently I began trying Sony Vegas Pro 12. I use the built-in intervalometer in my Nikon D7000 but I am planning to get some external intervalometers. And yes (checked this on Amazon) the Vello Shutterboss is compatible with the D7000. Might have to try that out. :)

I found some excellent tutorial guide here - Creating time lapse videos with nikon d7000: a basic guide
