Photos NOT OK to edit
Hi! I’ve been reading the forum for a month. Love the Abstract/Minimalist Theme posts. I did post a few times and guess I should have introduced myself.

I have no desire to be a professional photographer. We have hired a pro several times and love his work.

I have a Nikon D40 and recently purchased a T4i. My background is video & motion graphics and purchased the T4i for video mostly. I figured the best way to learn the settings is to start with photos and then move to video with the camera. I also do a little volunteer website work TYPO3.

My goal is to take better photos as a hobbyist and would like to create art video or timelapse. I love After Effects with the 3D space and virtual camera and creating 2.5D photos. I am hoping to get good footage from the T4i to add to projects. I like the color depth with a dSLR compared to a traditional video camera.

So far I have read the manual a few times, read a quick start guide, blogs, and online courses on Exposure, Composition, Lenses, dSLR specific, ACR, and got sidetracked with a few segments on photo retouching. And of course reading this forum and following the links posted in responses. I’ve been shooting RAW with the new camera and a workflow of ACR and maybe some PS work.

This forum is informative and am learning from others posts. Enjoyed reading the spirited posts here too! If you want to see my work on, a link is in my profile.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome to TPF, Cheryl! We appreciate you stopping by here for the introduction! :) Glad the forum has already been a help to you. It's why we're here.
