Very nice picture. Things that you might want to think about for future shots though:
1. I would have cropped out that red object on the left, lower centre as it is out of focus and I found it distracting.
2. I always try and watch for what a photographer friend of mine has called "pokies". You know those seemingly unobtrusive bits of stuff that poke into your picture and you probably didn't even realize it was happening. In this case, there are three leaves that poke into the flower and break the continuity of the edge of the bloom. One pokes into the stigmas and the other two poke into the petals of the flower below the stigmas. As well, there is one small leaf to the left of centre that is intruding upon the petals. I mention this because when I look for flowers to photograph (my favourite subject), I always try to find one that is clear of pokies and stands out against the background as you have done here.
3. I always try and avoid putting the flower right in the centre of the image. rather I take it to the right or left following the rule of thirds, depending on which way the flower is facing. Moving this one to the left out of the centre of the image would also have gotten rid of the out of focus object in the background.

I am glad that you avoided the temptation of 'shopping in a different sky as this one provides enough of a contrast to make a good image. Putting something with clouds in it may have provided a distraction that you didn't want. Blue and orange are on opposite sides of the colour wheel and therefore are good contrasting colours for this image.

Thanks! You obviously gave this image a lot of thought, which was quite kind. I appreciate it.
