I shot these for one of the local high schools. Our rival actually. I find football really tough to shoot. Especially when they ask you to get pics of seniors. How do you get pics of linemen? They just pile up. I would appreciate any feedback on improvements. I'm pretty much a beginner. Thanks!

You got some ok action shots, although there is some motion blur in there. Tough to keep it sharp when shooting on a darker field and not using any help with the lighting.

For lineman shots I try to get about 20 yards up the field and then pick and lineman for the play and hope his face shows as he ties up the opponent, usually results in a shot from an angle and not quite a complete side profile of the action. As soon as the face is visible I take the shot. When they get down by the goal line you can get decent shots of them lined up across the line of scrimmage and also again as they make contact with the other player.

Thanks for the comment! I suppose I'm still having trouble with my settings in order to stop the blur and adjust for the low light.

Watch the lineman you plan on shooting and as soon as he stands up into his blocking stance shoot, works best for pass blocking, on run blocks watch for them to be ahead of the running backs, you do have to be in front of the offence shooting back towards them, somewhere along side of the defensive backs. Shooting the centre is more difficult, but he still blocks. Just watch them, it will take several downs to get what you want.
