Taken at the Independence day parade

Those guys look like some real Americans

The second picture is better IMO (first seems to have a bit of a crazy angle or distortion) although that background isn't helping much.

The backgrounds are way too distracting.

West Virginia... I'm glad I don't live there...

They were in the parade so I didn't have much choice on the background. I could have tried to narrow my DoF I suppose...

layball:

Actually they were from Kentucky according to the markings on the car.

The funny thing is they probably spent a lot of time and money to make that car look that 'crappy.'

I just visited Harper's Ferry WV, which is the only place in WV I've been to. I definitely like to see the real WV some time, just never had the chance to.

The second photo had potential, but you definitely need to use a larger aperture to get shallower depth of field to create more dynamism.

I've never lived in WV but that's quite an ignorant thing to say unless you've experience it yourself.

Molested_cow remind me one day to tell you about the West Virginia fox.

I don't have to experience it.... all I know is that its a red state. Thats all I need to know to steer clear!

Oh no, the discussion has gone political! Put your goggles on, it's time for some mud slinging!

In all seriousness, I agree that the pictures could definitely have been better if the DOF was shallower, but I like them even so. I wonder what they would look like in B&W...

If only all libs felt that way and stayed out of our hair.

Honestly though, I'm not liberal or conservative. I don't like conservative religious oppression or the liberals ignoring/trying to rewrite The Bill Of Rights. I think they both should stop telling everyone else how they should live, but I digress... B&W versions as requested.
