Hoar Frost~Winter shooting

Taken by the hillside spring which runs all year long. The water is much warmer than the air temps so 'hoar frost' settles on the grasses that drop over the logs and on top of the rocks.

It was an exciting find today.

Hi Mulewings. I came across your photo in the "you and your camera" thread and decided to see the photos you've been posting. I really like this one. You've gotten in nice and close. The diagonal formed by the log with the hoar is a wonderfully strong compositional element. You've captured outstanding textures. While there are some folks that would like greater contrast range, I like the way you've processed it here. The highlights aren't blown. You have superb shadow detail.
