The cloister of the Jeronimos Monastery (Monastery of St Jerome) in Lisbon, Portugal. The monks have long since departed. It is mainly a tourist attraction although the very beautiful monastery church is still in regular use. It's a World Heritage Site and well worth a visit if you have the opportunity. An excellent image of a truly remarkable building
I am also taken by the slightly different ceiling treatments for the two corridors ... the one to the right has a continuous line down its length, while the other has a different pattern.

G'day to you too Phil. Thanks. It must have been a two team affair starting at the far corner of the quadrangle and they didn't notice anything until they met at the near corner. Monks always walk hands clasped and have their eyes to the ground.
