this past weekend was my first time off the east coast... it was amazing...

Wow that is striking. A little under exposed around the bridge itself. Beautiful composition, gives a good sense of depth/scale!

Thanks... I love this lens, Tokina Pro DX 11-16mm f2.8.

WOW! I guess that is what people mean when they say that a picture as depth. Impressive, it almost like you are falling off the dam! You were able to get your camera over the edge? There is not any sort of fence to avoid accident/attacks?

Thanks! There is a concrete wall, roughly came up to my stomach and I am only 5'8. As for leaning over the edge barely... this lens is super wide, this was shot at 11mm. I leaned over slighlty until the concrete edge of the barrier was out of the shot and fired away. There is no fence... only a security check at the top of the road, maybe a half mile from the damn itself.

For some reason, this photograph is displaying really dark on my monitor. But there's a lot more shadow detail that this post suggests. Looks to me as though something happened in the upload process. I downloaded the image, and there's a lot there to work with. I think with a little PP you could get a spectacular print out of this image.

I'll take all the help I can get... I am a complete newbie when it comes to monitor technology and the relationship between what I see here (digitally) and the result when printed. Thanks for any help!

beautiful use of that lens.....lovely detail......although, i agree it is a tad dark.....what aperture did you use?

not a clue... I'd have to go back and check the reference data from the shot. It's shot raw, so I could lighten it rather easily.

By the way, did you post its colour version here in some other thread?

Regards :D

I will tonight... at work and unfortunately don't have files here.

Actually i said that from memory of the same bridge i saw else where which i found today; it has a slightly different angle; further they were shot in two different seasons, i think
