Horses in the golden hour

Nice set. I like the warmth in these images. The compositions are also good in almost all of them. I just wish the 2nd horse was in full view in numbers 3 and 4.

Very nice photos. The time might be golden hour but I would not call this golden hour photos. I think the sun was hiding behind the cloud. The photos dont have enough gold color ;). But I love these. Check this link.

These are really, really nice! My favorites of the set are #3, 4,& 5. :thumbup:

Thank you for the lovely response! =)

@timethief
Yes, I also noticed that the other horse in #3 and #4 is kinda disturbing the composition, but unfortunately there was nothing I could do. I couldn't recompose because I was shooting from behind a fence (after I already "illegaly" climbed over the first fence to get closer =D). I tried cloning it out in the post, but it didn't work - it would look too fake...

@Schwettylens
You're right, it wasn't really a tipical golden sunset - the sun was coming and going from behind the clouds... It was lovely to be there, though =) Thanks for the informative link!

Nice set! #1 is my favorite... lovely horse!

Great shots demonstrating a lot of the animal's personality. My only suggestions would be to remove the halters next time. Personally, they really detract from the photos. IMO unless someone is riding the horse, there should be little or no obvious signs of it being domesticated. That also means to try and watch the backgrounds a bit, having fence posts in them can be a bit distracting. Never the less, these are great shots, I'd just like to see a reshoot when there aren't any halters ;)

@togalive
Thanks!
Totally agree, but this is actually a place where horses are more or less alone behind the fence. The keeper only comes now and then in the evening to feed them... So I couldn't even ask if I could go behind the fence to get a better angle easier... (There were even some wires I couldn't avoid across the original photos, but content-aware in PS sorted that out quite nicely... =))
Next time I go by I'll try to talk to the owner, if he'd like me to take some more "official" photos, considering the advice you just gave... =)

Wow, really nice, shows that you are a really good photographer.
