So my hot shoe is fitting a little tight with external flashes. I'm kind of forcing it in. It works but I'm afraid it'll damage the camera. What do you guys think?

Does that flash have a locking device?

For example, my Canon flash has a little peg on the foot, and when I tighten the threaded ring around the foot, it lowers the peg into a hole on the shoe, to lock the flash in place. If your flash has something like that, you'll have to make sure that it's all the way retracted when sliding the flash on the hot shoe.

It may just be that the shoe on your flash is a little big, or otherwise out of shape. It could even be possible that your hotshoe has been squeezed, making the connection tight.

Either way, I would think that it's much more likely that you'll damage the flash before you damage the camera.
