Storms rolling through the area today through the weekend are keeping me inside, but now that the kestrels are done mating in my roof my bird feeders are coming alive. Took this one out the kitchen window. Lighting sucks but any camera action is better than none. I'm thinking it's a house finch but I've never seen one this vibrant or with this much yellow. Any other ideas?

Finches can be tough because there are so many. I would say house finch but none of ours (that I can think of) have yellow.

BTW - you are totally correct in regards to the Ibis. That was the first one I saw with a white face like that. My wifey and I had a conversation about it last night and I mentioned what I wrote in your post. I should keep mentioning that I have never seen a Bald Eagle or a Snowy Owl and hope they suddenly appear. ;)

I just read that some finches do intermingle, so maybe there's a hybrid in the mix. Who knows. He has been coming by a few times a day always with his lady friend.

I think we just might be good luck to each other with the birds Jac. After your cormorant set I had commented I had never seen one, the very next day a whole flock arrives. No it was your turn with the Ibis. I have yet to see an owl as well, though there is a lake 40 minutes to the north of me with a population of golden and bald eagles, though I've never shot either.
