How can I freeze action better?

View attachment 68337 here ya go. like this. make a game of it. in this instance i was playing "how low can i go with the iso" . Dim light. Granted, the photo isn't stellar. But managed iso 80 still freezing the birdy at 1/800s f3. Make it fun. practice.

It always annoyed me how my film body can do 1/4000 speed, but with a TTL flash (speedlite 300), only 1/250.
Hopefully modern flashes/bodies are much better

You just need a flash and camera that can do HSS/Auto FP.

1/250 is the fastest shutter speed that has both the front/first and rear/second shutter curtains fully open.
