Saw a comment when researching DSLRs on dpreview.com. Thought I would give it a chance. Seems like I'm in the right place, the one where the big dogs don't expel people for being complete n00bs like myself, and I very, very much appreciate it. I've been a member of several forums (about video games, cars, etc) to learn about and understand something and have been ridiculed for not knowing when all I wanted to do was learn more. I'm very happy that this place has a beginner's section, because the world of photography seems quite daunting to me.

I just typed in Google: Nikon d3100, and it landed me on a page on this forum. I signed up and am very happy with the helpful community. There is such a vast pool of knowledge here that will push anyone to become better at photography.
