How do you control WB?

Lens aperture numbers are also "bass-ackwards", according to casual thinking patterns...with as we know f/2 being a very large, wide aperture, and f/16 being a narrow, small-diameter hole...

Only because we tend to leave out the 1.

F2 is 1 over 2....one half.
F4 is 1 over 4...one quarter (smaller than one half).

That's one way I explain it to my students and it really seems to help.

This is an older thread but I've revived it because I had and still have the same question as Destin. The confusing part concerning white balance is the higher temps. are more blue with the lower temps. being more yellow. But when I correct the white balance in an image that has a bluish tint I will raise the temp. to eliminate the bluish tint. making it more yellow. This just seems so contradictory. When I lower the white balance temp. on an image it adds a lot of blue. If blue represents a high temp. why does lowering the temp. make it more blue. I can't grasp this logic. This was preying on my mind last night while reading "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson.
