how do you know if a lens will fit the body?

hello everyone.. i was looking into purchasing a Canon 100-300mm F5.6 Telephoto & Macro lens.. but im not completely sure if it will fit my camera.. i have a nikon fm10.. is there anyway i can find out if it will fit or not?

Stick with Nikon lenses for your Nikon camera.

They do make adapters but it's not a good solution.

One a side note, the movie 'The Corpse Bride' was shot entirely with Canon 1Ds II cameras and Nikon lenses.
 
I would believe mike! He's always on top of things and I haven't seen him be wrong yet. I've never tried an adaptor like that.
 
I saw a video about it. They already had a bunch of pro Nikon glass and the best camera at the time was the 1Ds. Since auto metering and focus were not needed, the adaptors were a good choice for them.

It is much easier to convert nikon lenses to canons than the other way around.
