just curious if i have been saying it wrong....lol

i say "bo" then prounounce "keh" like the "ke" in keg

And regardless of what the people in that thread say you are right. It's a Japanese word so say it as they do. But then I'm sure plenty of the Ameeeerican english speakers here will disagree :-P

Brb going set fire to myself to save you the flaming hassle.

wait! Do you say "bo" as in "bow" or "bo" as in "bot?"

"boh" and "keh" is the way I pronouce it. This after hearing a lens discussion between 2 Japanese Nikon employees talking over coffee at a trade show last year.

Bo as in Robot, and ke as in keg

Again... Japanses Nikon emloyees pronounce the name of their company as "nee-kohn".

I say "Nykon" (long "I")... lol.

You say toMAHtoes, I say toMAYtoes.

My toMAYtoe takes great pics... lol.

Since I have always heard it "Nykon" in every commercial I have ever seen, that is how I pronounce it.

Bokeh, I have never pronounced, because I have never had the opportunity to speak it :D.

Doesn't matter, I was way off anyways. I just now realize I subconsciously put an "r" in there to pronounce it "Brokeh" in my head (as in "broke-ah") :er:

Ah, but do you say NICK-ore or NYE-kore lenses?

I always say NICK-ore because that's how it appears to me and how Nikon's
customer service phone recording says it (last time I checked).

But most people seem to say NYE-kore.

But, the same people don't say NYE-kore-mat, for some reason. They say NICK-ore-mat.

Go figure.

just dont use the term.....

or when in a conversation make sure the other person says it and then you copy them haha

i read somewhere it's meant to rhyme with Polka, but thats rubbish, i think you guys are saying it right (how i've been saying it)

Man... I'm from south Louisiana with a wicked blend of a southern drawl and Cajun accent combined... I'm soooo out of this discussion! I took one look and pronounced it "boo-kay". I mean isn't everything pronounced with a French accent? Les bons temps roullier, sha!
