How is this patch?

How do you do it? Given I'm a LR5 gal, but I loved this picture but needed the background extended so I tried. After 1.5 hours googling and trying I'm as far as I'm getting tonight! I then did some adjustments in LR because I couldn't even figure it out in PS. Any good references? Is this patch to distracting? Can I fix it? Thanks!!!

Are you going to fix the blue/green/gray skin now that you'd patched the bg?

I put the blue cast in on purpose. I like it.

I see he may be too gray. I'll see about putting the reds back in his face. I think I ran a fix red brush over his face.

Yeah, it's coming off as wonky WB to me as opposed to it being processed in that manner. Unsure why this would need that sort of treatment.
