So, exactly how long does it take to remember to advance the film after each shot?

100 or so missed shots, give or take 20 or so blown opps...

Dear mother of bunnies!

I used to reach for the advance when I switch. Now I try to chimp with my film camera.

Kinda like looking for the clutch pedal in an automatic.

lol oh yes! I keep looking at the back plate like there should be something there lol I better practice a ton more before I go out in public lest people think I'm more crazy than usual lol

There should be something there............ the tab off the end of the box of film so you know what's in the camera.

Now, if you get a motor drive or auto-winder for your camera, you won't have to worry about advancing the film.

LOL!

Just wait until you open the back without rewinding. That's a real scream!

Be kind, rewind.

I drive a standard and my wife has an automatic. I lost count of the number of times that I've about put my foot through the floorboard going for the clutch.

Been there, done that, there should be a T-shirt.

lol you guys!

Sparky, yes, that should be there but Timor gave me this film and it had no box ;) It's all I have right now so I don't think I'll forget what's in it ;)

So after you're done with a roll of film, do you stick that thing in the usb port or something?

I don't remember how long it took to remember... Actually, that's how I learned and have been shooting film long enough that it's second nature. Probably the more you practice the more it will become routine.

After this roll just play with the camera without film in it, I still do that with any 'new' vintage camera I get just to get comfortable with the controls. (Although I use mechanical cameras, I don't know what camera you have.) I think it's partly the sound, you get used to hearing the shutter release and then the sound of the camera advancing the film.

As I recall, the film advance lever will not cock the shutter without the little wheel inside turning as the sprocket holes pass by. Maybe that was just my Minolta, can't say how everything works.
