how many picture do you guys take daily? I have been taking a lot and trying to edit and post but im running out of time it seems.. my mom just called and I have been taking picture of my neice she just said she got some pictures I have taken developed and people love them so thats always good news

A few capital letters and punctuation marks would go a long way!

I have no clue what I average. Some days, I never touch a camera. Other days, I fire off 500-700 shots.

when I shoot an event or demonstration, perhaps 500 in 2-3 hours
when I travel about 2-300/day (that really depends on lighting conditions and situation; the chancier the light the more I shoot)


remember, it depends a lot on what you are shooting

I recently went on vacation with my husband and parent to Tennessee, and took alot of photos. I had a chance to shoot in all different trypes of lighting so that was fun. It gave me a chance to get used to my camera I have only had it 2 weeks

Per shoot or per day?

Last shoot I did (free on for my buddy) I took 187 shots of his Mustang. Returned maybe two dozen workable pics.

Extrapolated per day probably a dozen or two.

on vacation I think I took about 300 and with me being new none of them are great but some turned out better then others : ) since I have had my camera I have taken 1000 photos in 2 weeks, but I also use my moms canon so when I am there somtime I use hers but have taken 200 on hers. Im getting there always looking for an opportunity to take pictures just busy with other things as well

Take about five to six times as many as you think you should. Slightly overexpose one, underexpose one, take one zoomed out one zoomed in, kneeling, laying standing, etc etc. Take each picture with a specific thing in mind and concentrate on that. As long as you are shooting digital you should be golden. Just dump the ones you don't like.

Yea I have learned to do that with my neice, by the time I lay down to take shot she is in the backyard already : ) and with shooting her I just have to keep shooting because she just does the most random things kids are the cutest

I shoot in 'bursts'. I can go weeks without touching my camera, then shot 2 or 3 rolls when I finally pick it up (yes, I shoot film, lol).

When I'm "busy", I would say a roll a week - so 36 pictures/week. More accurately though, that would all happen in a weekend, or maybe a day. Then I will go another week or so without taking many pictures.


Parties/events don't count, because I'm just snapping away, and all I really care about is 'capturing the moment'.


It does depend a lot on the weather and how I feel though. Nice weather, I take more pictures. Crappy, depressing weather, I might go 2 or 3 weeks.


So, I would say I take less than 5 pictures a day averaged out over a typical week.

FWIW, I just got back from shooting for the past 5½ hours...... 493 frames. Some were CYA brackets, others HDR brackets, some even for focus stacks.

Well it really depends. On the job- however many it takes to get the photo I want within the time frame allotted. However just a regular day? I try to shoot about 100-500 images daily, whether or not they are interesting. There are days that I end up shooting thousands of images from start to finish, I just try to not stop shooting. As photography is my main source of income I have to make sure I am always up to the task of creating new images.
