How? Nature Glamor Photography?

Hey everybody. ive been shooting for about 9 months and came across an amazing senior photographer in my area. How does she take pictures like this? How is the face lit so softly and naturally? Is she using fill flash? What lens does she have because the face and hair look incredibly sharp?

Im no expert...not even close, but they may have used reflectors and a flash..Its amazing how much a reflector can do.

Yes, she had to use fill lighting so we could see the backlit subject.

I suppose I could get used to carrying around a reflector.....I just hope people don't start

A hot shoe flash unit is a lot easier to handle.

Plus there are benfits to using flash you don't get with using a reflector. Like, the ability to control the ambient light exposure separately from the strobed light (flash) exposure.
