Dude, you don't have to do any of that stuff just to get arrested.

I've been "arrested", cuffed and taken to booking, 5 times.

All for rollerblading down a side walk. After skating a ledge or rail, lol. Everytime, no charges were filed and they had to let me go. An 18 y/o with extensive legal knowledge is a scary thing to a police officer.

I understand that, i've been in those situations my self for skating, just never taken in. But you should get my point. You were not "arrested" IMO your not arrested until your charged and convicted.

Sitting in the back of the car don't count. But when someone says " Your aint cool unless you get arrested" can send the wrong message to a lot of people who are hungry to be "cool". Crime follows. Don't say this is only the internet, i know that. People get crazy ideas everywhere and it only takes one person to give them it. I was simply stating a point. Getting arrested does not make you cool, like in high school, your not cool if you don't smoke. Why mess up your future trying to be cool once?

I have to disagree with this - especially the part about being convicted.

To me "arrested" means "placed in the custody of the police"; simply being arrested does not mean that you are guilty. In the United States, we are (supposedly) innocent until proven guilty.

You know how many times I rode my bike home from the bar piss drunk? (I would never touch a car while drunk though, that's just inconsiderate). Two years ago, 3 friends and I went to the river bottom here in Lethbridge, broke into the sewer grate down there and made an underground journey through the system until we emerged in the University parking lot. A few months before that, we had found an old tire, brought it to the edge of that same river valley and raced it to the bottom of the hill in my friend's Ford Tempo. I'm always trespassing on abandoned private property too, but that's for photography and I think we can all understand the need to do that once in a while.

You're arrested when you're taken in and booked. When/if you're convicted, that just means you were found guilty. Plenty of people are arrested and then found innocent.

Well... I am 27 and haven't been arrested... YET!
